Note: If your collaborator already has a Cosynd account, they will need to check the box marked "I will sign on behalf of a company" in their profile settings and enter their company details before you complete the following steps.
There may be some instances where you want your collaborator to sign on behalf of a company such as:
- A company will have an ownership share in your copyrights.
- Your agreement is directly with a company, rather than with an individual person.
In order for a collaborator to sign an agreement on behalf of a company, you and your collaborator need to take the following steps:
1) Your collaborator will need to check the box marked "I will sign on behalf of a company" in his/her profile settings after they sign up or before you invite them to the agreement if they are already a Cosynd user.
Your collaborator will need to enter their company name and your title. They should only check this box and enter a company/title if they intend to sign all of their Cosynd agreements on behalf of a company.
2) When adding a collaborator to a team, the person creating the agreement should check the box marked "This collaborator will sign on behalf of a company."
Fields for the collaborator's company and title will appear when you check this box. Click "Save" to continue.
When you are ready to propose an agreement for your entire team to review, your collaborators will receive an invitation to view your agreement. They will also be able to change their profile details such as their company name and title (CEO, Counsel, etc.) if needed.
As you complete your agreement, collaborators that are signing on behalf of a company will be displayed like this:
