You can create a copyright registration application for:
- One single copyright.
- A collection of published copyrights (like an album of music).
- A collection of up to 10 unpublished copyrights.
- Music creators can register a sound recording, the underlying composition, or both using one application too.
You may need to file separate copyright registration applications to protect an entire collection of work. Here are a few examples of scenarios that would require separate applications.
- Your collection contains different types of media (album artwork should be registered separately from music).
- Your works have been released/created at different times.
- Your works are authored/owned by different sets of individuals (like an album of music).
- The contribution of the authors isn't the same for each title in your collection (for example, if for 9 out 10 songs on an album the authors' contribution are the same, but on the 10th song, one author's contribution is different, then the 10th song should be filed separately).
